Injectibles

Injectables are non-surgical treatments for wrinkle reduction, soft tissue augmentation and facial contouring. They are among the safest, most effective and non-invasive anti-aging treatments for rejuvenation of the face and hands.

There are two main groups of injectables: wrinkle relaxers like Botox and Dysport, and a variety of injectable fillers. Together these two groups of injectables are used to treat :

• Facial folds and creases
• Hollows in the cheeks, undereyes and temples
• Thin or flat lips
• Disproportional nasal shape
• Other misc applications

Choosing the right injectable or combination for you depends on several factors, including the type of correction you seek, the area you wish to correct and the duration you expect your results to last.

Temporary Injectables

Injectable wrinkle relaxers like Botox® and Dysport work by temporarily paralyzing overused muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles, or expression lines, on the forehead, near the eyes and between the eyebrows. The effects of these injectables usually last for about three to six months.

Injectable dermal fillers like Juvederm®, Restylane and Perlane are used to temporarily correct facial creases, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, as well as for lip augmentation and filling under eye depressions that cause dark circles.

Injectable fillers are sometimes used to correct nasal contours in a procedure called a non-surgical nose job. When combined with injectable wrinkle relaxers, both temporary and long-lasting injectable fillers may be used as part of a procedure known as a non-surgical or liquid facelift.

Longer-lasting Injectables

Radiesse a semi-permanent injectable filler, is a popular treatment for facial folds and creases that lasts several months longer than temporary injectable fillers. Artefill is also used for facial wrinkle correction, however the results of this filler last even longer than Radiesse results and may even be permanent.

Sculptra is another long-lasting injectable filler that is typically used to restore volume to hollow cheeks and temples but may also be used for hand rejuvenation. Not only does the Sculptra filler product remain for several months after injection, it also stimulates the body to increase collagen production, so Sculptra results can continue to improve over an even greater period of time.
